When did you first fall in love with science?
I won a prize in my 7th grade science fair after a failed experiment. I was astonished by that at the time because I didn't find an answer to the question I began with. It's a testament to the quality of my education that the judges paid closer attention to the way I engaged with the scientific method than the (inconclusive) results I generated. The idea that the person with the best answer was not necessarily the best scientist was intriguing.
