What new development in science has your attention right now?
Much more so now than in earlier years, I have observed many young people who want to be top-rate scientists and also are not shy about their personal and professional interests in science outreach, communication, and engagement. During my early career in science academia, I felt I needed to stay quiet about such interests, in order to be taken seriously as a scientist. I'm excited to find new ways to work with such openly publicly motivated scientists in the future to further science and its role in society.
