When did you first fall in love with science?

I’ve always loved science, but joining CAPTRS deepened that passion. My first experience with the Command, Control, Communication, and Coordination (C3C) Game in April 2022 transformed my perspective. The game, designed to help Austin city leaders navigate emerging threats, wasn’t just about data or models. It showed how science fosters collaboration, bringing diverse groups together to learn, grow, and strengthen as a community. Watching the players work through the game’s challenges made it clear that science is about contributing to something larger AND building more resilient, informed communities.
