When did you first fall in love with science?
David Attenborough's Life on Earth in 1979 blew my mind. It was on colour TV, which we'd just bought, and it was on late. It was the show we were allowed to stay up past our bed-time to learn from. Attenborough taught us evolution, biology, ecology and even a bit of social science. His book of the TV series was the first hardback our family ever owned, and even today I can still remember his voice and enthusiasm explaining why the world looks the way it does, and why it changes in the ways that it has.
